      Dr. Woeller,

Would you mind sharing why you prefer using GPL over other labs such as Metametrix for the OAT?

      Thank you,
      Kim

        Kim,
The Metametrix OAT has some similar markers as the GPL OAT. However, there are specific things which get missed by other OAT’s which are important, specifically the 4-cresol and HPHPA coming from clostridia bacteria. If these are not analyzed than the negative influence on many other metabolic systems is missed. The Metametrix OAT lists DHPPA as a marker for toxic clostridia. However, DHPPA is a normal marker and does not cause inhibition of the Dopamine-Beta-Hydroxylase enzyme which negatively influences Dopamine metabolism.

Also, I don’t beleive the MetaMetrix OAT has the oxalate values either.

        Sincerely,
        Dr. Woeller
