      Hi
just got my first UC client – I have tested him for food sensitivities – (Oxford Labs MRT) – a lot to work on there. I plan to test for Celiac – I have used Cyrex do you have a recommendation?
Wondering since there is now conversation about UC as an autoimmune, and/or being related to a virus (EBV), and perhaps a pathogen? What other testing would you do for a UC pt? – 401H, OAT, ? How do you test for a viral strain? and does Biocidin cover the viral infection?
I would probably wait until we trial DFGF and eliminate food sensitivities, but want to have Plan B ready.
      Thanks

        Lorraine,
I don’t have much experience with MRT, but I know a number of functional medicine/nutritional practitioners who use them. I personally like the Food IgG finger prick test offered from Great Plains Laboratory.

        Other Testing:

        -Organic Acids Test
        -#401-H
-Consider a Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis (CDSA), but may just wait for OAT and #401-H results and just use Sodium/Potassium Butyrate as discussed in the Secretory IgA/Mucosal Barrier lecture since it is so commonly beneficial.

EBV – ??? maybe. I would likely go first with what you know and that is pathogen and food reactivity driven.

Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) – http://www.lowdosenaltrexone.org is a therapy I would look to do as well, and implementing right away a Specific Carbohydrate Diet – http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.com which is the first breakthrough diet for people with inflammatory bowel disease.

        Sincerely,
        Dr. Woeller
