Can you clarify more about how to combine the FODMAPS and SCD but still use Fermented foods in first two weeks of Step One: Support Digestion and Improve Motility and Elimination?
The patient should just use fermented vegetables and not anything dairy related and to use small amounts.
If onions and garlic are illegal( assume sec to fructans) in the SIBO/ Low FODMAP diets , then how can the use of garlic be considered as a choice of treatment especially if there is methane gas production on the breath test?
Garlic has inulin, but the garlic extract of Allicin does not. The inulin is the non-digestible fiber of garlic and some other foods, i.e. chicory root, bananas, onions, leeks and asparagus.
