hi – if a client seems very sensitive to Rifaxamin at 550 mg x 3, will it still be effective to lower to 225 mg x 3 and extend the duration of treatment? or would you do 1 x day, then increase slowly? Thes is an adult, 5’6, 130#. She needs the quick lowering of sx so I don’t want to do the botanicals, except as a follow up perhaps.
    Thanks

    Lorraine,
Rifaxamin is an antiobiotic that has poor intestinal absorption so it is perfect for things like SIBO. This means even lower dosages will still be retain in the intestines and should still be helpful. I would advocate for multiple dosings throughout the day versus just once.
