5-HTP with kids

  I met with a guy from a French supplement company today and he recommended not to use 5-HTP before being a teenager.
  
  It is the first time I have heard that advice: at what age do you feel safe to use 5-HTP?

  In ideal circumstances we wouldn’t have to use 5-HTP. Unfortunately, there are many children who exhibit low serotonin states just like adults.
  
  I have never seen problems in using 5-HTP in kids would much prefer its use over SSRI medications if at all possible. There are a number of studies showing 5-HTP effectiveness and safety in many children.
